November 20th, 2007 - THUS plc chooses Lex
Telecommunications services provider THUS plc has appointed Lex to manage its 390-strong company vehicle fleet after an extensive review of its future fleet requirements and the marketplace.
THUS has also extended its very close relationship with Toyota, with Lex sourcing all cars and light commercials through Edinburgh dealer Western Toyota. THUS now provides its operational staff with the diesel Avensis, Auris, and Prius range; and offers user choosers a complete range of Toyota cars. Lexus, VW and Honda shall also now appear on the user chooser list.
Driver safety, satisfaction, vehicle reliability, environmental impact and total whole life costs were some of the key issues THUS considered when awarding the contracts to Lex and Toyota.
Lex supplies all cars to THUS on three year/60,000 miles full maintenance agreements as well as all accident management, credit hire and daily rental requirements.
Commenting on the new contract Ken Moncrieff, THUS Head of Procurement said: "Lex has proven that it can provide an excellent service to our company and drivers, at the same time as having our financial best interests at heart.
"Our relationship with Toyota has strengthened on the back of our drivers enjoying the driving characteristics, safety and environmental features of the cars, in addition to them being very cost effective," he added.
Linda Rivett, Lex key account manager for THUS commented: "THUS is a very dynamic company and we plan to stay one step ahead of their needs. We are always looking at ways we can improve their fleet efficiency, whilst saving money and keeping drivers happy, which is where the Toyota relationship comes in."
